Mood boards

One of my favourite tools to work with is mood boards. Whenever a client contacts me for a full personal styling session, I make them fill up a questionnaire to get to know them and their fashion needs, and one of the questions is 'Is there a particular style or aesthetic that inspires you? If confidence was not an issue, how would you dress?' The answers to this question are usually really interesting and diving into the web for inspiration in order to create mind blowing mood boards that will inspire my clients to visualise the best version of themselves is one of my favourite things. Mood boards inspire us and help us gain clarity on what message we want to convey with our clothes and whom we want to be. I find that often clients are not happy with their wardrobes because they do not reflect who they really are, or perhaps they portray a version of themselves that no longer exists.
Here is an example of an 'old money'- inspired mood board that I recently created for a client. Needless to say, that the Parisian in me was very excited and inspired by the minimalistic, classy and timeless elegance of the 'old money' aesthetic! This type of timeless styles is becoming increasingly popular on social media and among a generation of women who is starting to long for a 'less is more' approach, feeling a little lost in this world of overconsumption, overwhelmed by endless options to choose from and ever-changing trends. What is on your mood/ vision board? What story would you like to tell the world through your clothes?
